OUR BELIEFS

Valleyview confesses and upholds the Historic Christian faith in the Reformed theological tradition.

We believe in the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, fully divine and fully human.
We believe in the person, work, power, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We believe the bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, and its purpose is to reveal God’s plan of salvation in Jesus Christ to us and transform us to live as His disciples.

We believe Jesus' followers are called to continue his ministry in the world as His Church.
We believe we are to share the good news about salvation in Jesus Christ with everyone.

Being Reformed means that we intentionally look at everything in this world; from our personal thoughts, feelings and actions to politics, sports, movies, music, philosophy, academics, engineering, etc… even religion, in the light of the Scriptures. So that we may discover what must be re-formed according to God's Word in order to honor and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ in who we are and in all that we do.

We look forward to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ when He will establish the New Heavens and the New Earth.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Valleyview is a presbyterian Church which means that it is governed by a leadership team called the Session, which consists of the pastor and elders, and they are held accountable by the regional district known as the Presbytery.

Elders are mature christians who have been called by Christ to lead and oversee the ministries of His Church. They are to be examples of faith, hope and love to all and encourage those whom they lead in the Christian faith. (1 Timothy 3:1-7)

Elders are chosen through a discernment process with the Holy Spirit nvolving prayer, interviews with the pastor, and having their call to  leadership affirmed by of the members of the Church.

Elders currently serving on the Session are:

Loraine Champion - Clerk of Session
Okechukwu Chukwu - Admnistrative Elder
Cheryl Gill - Pastoral Care Elder
David Brenton - Hospitality Elder

The Session meets monthly to oversee the ministries and the business of the church and engage in study and prayer.
